OMG. I don't even know where to start. Concert was SO. FUCKING. GOOD. And OMG. Maybe I got good concert karma for snatching the PE'z setlist and giving it to the girl who was obviously a huge fan? Because vgfdsjhggrhjaieugbksrnz.
Okay. Since I didn't want to have to worry about missing the last train, I actually drove into the heart of Cambridge (where there is ample free parking after 5:00!) I left way late, but The Rodeo Carburettor had just started when I got there. They were good, but not amazing. I was able to get a pretty good spot for Stance Punks, who I had heard
of, but not heard, so I was looking forward to them. They put on a
really good show. The lead singer's got an amazing amount of energy. He kept knocking down the microphone stands because the stage was so small. XD And then the bassist ran into the middle of the audience for part of one of the songs, which happened to be exactly where I was standing. So that was pretty exciting. ^^
PE'z was definitely not what I had expected (having never heard of them before)... sort of a jazz/punk fusion quintet. It was interesting and a nice change, and they kept the moshers pretty quiet. As soon as they went off, I snuck right up next to the stage, which was when I snagged the setlist and gave it to the aforementioned fan, who was very appreciative.
And then~ >o< When Hosomi came out to help with the set-up, everyone cheered. And okay, in photos, he generally looks decent, but after seeing him in person I've got to say he's one of the most unphotogenic people in the world, because he is GORGEOUS. Anyway, the roadies put down the setlist, which we were all reading upside-down. There were lots of songs from all over on it, not just from Riot on the Grill, but the song I particularly wanted to hear wasn't on it, so I yelled "Mr. Feather!" And Hosomi turned around, and I was like "Play Mr. Feather!" And Hosomi smiled and was like "Well... we haven't practiced that one too much...." but OMG, he is SO nice and friendly!!! And he kept laughing because he was playing Pizza Man during the sound check and I kept on singing every time he stopped. They also played Undone (The Sweater Song) during the sound check, which was pretty cool. I can't remember exactly what the setlist was, but they played a few songs, and Hosomi really got a kick out of those of us in the front who knew all the words. I also spent a lot of time molesting their photographer who was standing right next to me, thanks to the moshers. But it was okay, because somehow after one of the big mosh surges, I ended up even closer to the center of the stage. ....By which I mean, only
dokool was standing between me and the center monitor. And Hoshi was talking to the audience (he's
so nice!), and asked if there was anything that anyone wanted them to play. And I yelled, "Mr. Feather!" And he laughed and was like, "Okay, Mr. Feather," and they had to do a little warming up for it, but when they got into it it was
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good, and the crowd really loved it. So I won't be surprised if that makes it on their regular setlist. ^__________^
Afterwards, I got everyone's autograph, and Hosomi was so friendly and chatted with me and some people that I met from
ellegardenrocks, and took pictures with us. And he gives really good hugs! ♥ And kya, I am so hardcore in love with him now. >_>; I feel kind of bad for The Emeralds, because they seemed pretty good, but not many people were paying attention to them. ^^ I bought a couple of Stance Punks cds, and got all their signatures too. ^-^ And then it was just awesome, because members of Stance Punks and Ellegarden and The Emeralds hung around in the audience listening to TsuShiMaMiRe, who are a strange blend of cotton candy girl pop and hardcore rock. They're good, but not really my style. Hosomi and I talked a bit more (of course I couldn't think of a single thing to say) and when he had to leave he gave me another hug. ^__^ ♥ And in return for his autograph, I gave him a little sign that said "U.S. loves ELLEGARDEN" because I'm a dork. ^^U And I floated back to Sei-chan, and WTF is with the traffic signals around Harvard Square, anyway? And I chastised myself for not asking him to go for a drink or something, because me = the in love.
And now it is time for me to change out of my beer-smelly clothes and
drool over my autographs go to bed.
