I am in such a horrible, lazy, zero motivation slump, and I HATE IT. And what I hate even more is that I can't seem to get out of it. I was really almost going to do stuff last weekend, but then spent most of Saturday and Sunday with bad vertigo. I even had to skip ikebana class, which only comes once a month, and which I already missed the last two times. >:| Having Pokémon White around to waste all my time on doesn't help, either.

The weather has turned lovely recently. Of course, I can't open my windows and enjoy it because they're renovating the building next door to me. And this is Japan, so "next door" means literally less than 6 feet away.

That also means that it's time for Lawson's Aki no Rilakkuma Fair again. Japan peeps, please save your Rilakkuma points for me if you're not saving them up for yourself? (Mandy, I'll trade you my Coke points!)

I'm almost scared to watch the season premiere of Supernatural. If they do what it seemed like they were going to do at the end of S5, it's probably going to ruin the entire series for me. :/

Almost forgot the most important thing! KYOTO KRISPY KREME OPENS OCT. 1!!!!!! I've seen the location, and there's nowhere to put a 2-hour line. I wonder what they're going to do about that.

LJ is still made of fail, in case you weren't aware.

I finally made my decision: Pokémon White. I was leaning towards Black, but seeing the BW anime previews after the movie changed my mind. In motion, Reshiram's tuft looks even more like a penis. In contrast, Zekrom's tail has an electrical turbine in it! How cool is that? So, as usual, I'm going with the version that has the legendary that I like more.

By the way, the movie was sooooooooo boring. The plot is completely nonsensical, but basically there's a guy who wants to fist the Ass of Time.

Anyway, now I have another decision to make! I still have 4 days left on my Seishun 18, so from August 27th to 29th, should I go to Kanazawa, or Takayama? In either case, I'd go Friday night and come back Sunday night.

[Poll #1607453]

Actually, since the ticket is good until September 10th, I could do both, but I wouldn't be able to take a half day off on the 3rd. It would also mean missing half the Kansai Queer Film Festival. Hmm...

Now to go do chores, and NOT spend the whole evening reading Hourou Musuko, which is >o<.

[edit] Ehehe.. so I went and decided to do both. ^^; Takayama from the 27th to 29th, since it takes longer to get to, and Kanazawa on the 4th and 5th. I just now booked my hotels.

I also ended up reading another 30 chapters of Horou Musuko. >.>

"Sickish" turned into an all out cold. The upside of this: tea. I bought some tea at Lupicia a while back, because even though I'm not a tea drinker, it smelled just too good not to try it. But I hadn't drunk any, because who wants to drink tea in the middle of summer? So today I tried it for the first time. Oh. My. God. Amazing. I've been drinking Fantasy and Peach Melba, and they are both the best thing you can put in a cup. No way can I go back to choking down Lipton after this.

After weeks of training, I've finally evolved my Pupitar into Tyranitaur, which means I've now completed Gen I and Gen II of my pokédex. Current count, 461 seen and 436 obtained. Goal: complete pokédex by Sept. 18.

I have a new manga obsession: Shounen Maid. I saw this at Animate, but didn't buy it, because it was in the BL section, and this is Japan. It turns out that my fears were well-founded, as a few minutes on google told me that there's a completely unrelated manga with almost the same name ("Shounen Maid Kuro") which is hardcore shota rape/torture porn. >_< DNW. But Shounen Maid itself is adorable! And not shota at all, at least not yet. (After all, this is Japan.) It's about a neat-freak grade schooler named Chihiro who's sent to live with his rich, emotionally needy, boderline-hikikomori uncle when his mother dies. Chihiro was taught by his mother that he should always work honestly for everything, so he refuses to live off his uncle's money. Rather than force him to stay against his will, Chihiro's uncle offers him a job as his housekeeper, and lols ensue. The art is amazing. Since the current trend in porny manga is "screw plot development, put sex in the first chapter" (a rant for a different time), I'm pretty sure that if this was going to get skeevy, it would have already gotten skeevy. That's what I keep telling myself, anyway. The first two chapters are scanlated here (not very well, since they got the uncle's name wrong when the furigana is right there), and raw scans of the first two volumes are here. If I wasn't already overwhelmed with stuff, I would totally scanlate it myself. I might anyway. I LOVE that Chihiro is not being forced to work as a maid, or being taken advantage of in any way. And it's pretty sad that that's something I find refreshing in a manga.

Yes, I have finally caught all 151 original pokemans. Actually, right now my pokédex is at 437 seen and 403 caught. All I have left now is evolutions, and a few legendaries that I've unlocked the events for, but haven't actually done yet. If you're wondering wtf's taking me so long, when I could just clone a bunch of Rare Candies and be done with it, it's because I can never take the easy way when there's a hard way. I have a ridiculous need for every single pokémon to be the very best it can, so I don't let them evolve until they've learned everything in their moveset that I want, and I don't use Rare Candy (most of the time). We'll see if I'm actually finished with my pokédex before gen. V comes out. >.> Also, Kadabra's sprite in HGSS is so cute. It runs after you with a spoon in its hand. XD

I've got an Early Edition/Supernatural cross-over plot bunny eating my brain. Will I actually write it? :o (Even more shocking -- it's gen!)

The Prime Minister resigned AGAIN. From the little I understand about Japanese politics, he would have been kicked out anyway once the new ruling party came into power, but seriously, people. This is the third PM to resign since I've moved here. Acting all nicey-nice is so culturally ingrained that no one has the balls to stand up to a little criticism.

Anyway, I finally made my big trading post over at [livejournal.com profile] pokemon, and it went pretty well. My pokédex is at 401 seen, 350 obtained now. I also completed my berrydex and got some master balls to finally catch Mespirit and Cresselia, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] magicpotion. ♥

I also finally found a Firefox add-on that will block specific websites. I'm hoping I can finally kick the sf_drama habit now.

• The heat and humidity are killing me.
• Going up to Big Nag tomorrow for dollie and gay bar fun with [livejournal.com profile] triplepunch + SO, [livejournal.com profile] misspaulette, and [livejournal.com profile] anruiukimi.
• Had a truly awesome moment at karaoke when I found out you can get this song with the actual video.
• My cell phone is the best cell phone ever, because it now has a matching leopard print tail.
• Really looking forward to the new Pokéwalker, and hoping it will help spur me into both losing the weight I've gained, and getting to know Kyoto better.
• Kakigoori is the greatest invention ever.
• Mint Oreo McFlurries are good too.
Barney Frank is my hero. ♥

Sad face, for I have no more episodes of ST:TOS to watch. *emo tear* The final episode, though... lol forever. XD But I was disappointed that there was no money shot of girl!Kirk and his posse. Kirk and Spock were totally holding hands though, so that makes up for it. (The title also makes me want to rewrite it with Phoenix Wright characters.) Watching TOS only makes me appreciate even more how awesomely awesome Zachary Quinto was in XI. He really did his homework for that role. Oh, I can't wait for the wave of Star Trek doujinshi that I know is coming~~

RL has been so full of fail lately. Between sickness and stress and more sickness and insane humidity and laziness, I can't seem to do a single damn thing right. There have been a few cool happenings, though. I went to a kabuki production of Twelfth Night, which was awesome, and to a Hanshin Tigers game, which was also awesome. I met up with [livejournal.com profile] konoha for festivalness and purikura and TeniPuri karaoke, and [livejournal.com profile] misspaulette and I wore yukata to the Gion Matsuri parade (and had a really good purikura session afterwards). Yesterday's eclipse was pretty cool too, but of course it was overcast, so I could only catch a few glimpses of it.

In contrast to RL, Pokémon has been going awesome. I finally completely finished LeafGreen and transferred all my keepers to Diamond, and started playing Emerald. Emerald's keeping my interest a lot better, since it's not a rehash of something I've already played. And also because my game file is a Phoenix Wright AU where a Jirachi wish gone wrong has left Phoenix trapped in the body of Miles' Torchic. X3 Speaking of Jirachi... I has one! And yes, it's legit. Yay for Japanese wi-fi presents~ I also got the special Shokotan Pichu which lets you get the Gizamimi Pichu in GS. I haven't gotten movie Arceus yet, but I'll be doing that soon. I just hope that I don't actually have to sit through the whole movie to do it. :P I've also been getting a lot of good trades through GTS lately. Including an Usaring with Pokérus!!!! *throws confetti* So now all my pokes are infected/recovered. I also got a Shuckle named Noodle and a shiny Mew through [livejournal.com profile] pokemon. The Mew is hacked of course, but who cares? It's Mew! ♥ OH and they have so many new plushies at the Pokémon Center!! I got a Snorlax and a sleeping Gizamimi Pichu which is the CUTEST THING EVER. I'm thinking of getting a Magikarp next time, just for the lols. The Lapras is really cute, too....

I never thought I would be saying this, but Costco is so amazing! It's like being instantly teleported back to the U.S. We lol'ed so hard at all the Japanese people with their giant shopping carts filled with boxes of bulk cereal, a 20 oz. soda (with free refills for only ¥80!!) in one hand and a hot dog in the other. It's like some kind of crazy theme park where people go to play American. And they sell DS games! I could have saved 10 bucks by getting Platinum there! But then I wouldn't have been able to get my Secret Key today, so it's all good. *pets the shiny mystery gift*

Let's see what I bought.... brownie mix, American mayonnaise, canned chicken, canned tuna, 75 packets of instant cocoa, a 24-case of Dr. Pepper, microwaveable popcorn (I usually hate the stuff, but I have no way to pop real popcorn, and I'm that desperate), MUFFINS, and two slices of pepperoni pizza~ T^T So disappointed that they didn't have Lucky Charms, though. I regret not getting the Tim Tams, but I was barely able to get everything home as it was, so oh well.

Next time, I'm bringin' the BIG suitcase.

Pokémon Platinum would be a lot easier to play if you didn't have to talk to so many people.... @_@ But I set up my e-mail so I'll get a notice when I have a pokémon at the GTS center, and hopefully also about special events! ....Unless I turned e-mail notifications off. I'm not sure what that screen said. XD;;

(Oh, and you get one guess as to what I named my character. XD)

Of course, now I need to buy another DS so I can link with myself....

I'm seriously thinking of buying Pokémon Platinum now, instead of waiting for the US release. Because I'm just that lame. (But it would be good Japanese practice, right?)

The Weezer concert was so amazing. The only disappointments were: A) the Weezer towel sold out before I could get one, and B) Asian Kung-Fu Generation's set was way too short! But Gotoh was so cute talking about how they'd wanted to be "Japan's Weezer" and now they were opening for the real Weezer.

Weezer's part of the show started with a hootenanny on a small stage in the center of the room, which I was literally right next to. Rivers came out first, and spent like ten or fifteen minutes chatting with people, singing Japanese children's songs, and napping on the stage. Of course, he didn't talk to me, because I'm not Japanese enough. :P And then some Japanese fans who had been selected through processes unknown went up on stage with their instruments (including a trombone), and the rest of the band showed up, and they did acoustic versions of "Island in the Sun", "El Scorcho", and "Beverly Hills". Then Weezer went up to the main stage and the "real" concert started, and it was made of awesome and yay. They're soooooooo good live! ^o^ During the spoken part of "Undone" (which strangely enough, seemed to be one of the least-popular songs they played -- the audience seemed to be confused by it), Rivers told a story about going to an onsen, which was basically: "I went to an onsen for the first time. It was a little strange. But I think I'll go again. Let's all go to the onsen together." In the next part, he talked about his favorite manga (Detroit Metal City). XD

They didn't go too heavy on songs from the new album, which was good, because frankly, I don't think the new album is that great. ^^; However, I have to say, "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived", which left me unimpressed on the album, is fucking amazing live liek whoa. And everyobody yelled "That's right!" at just the right time during "Troublemaker", and it made me happy. ^-^ Annnnnd, they played "Pink Triangle", which I totally didn't think they would! :D I was surprised that they didn't play "Across the Sea", though.

Merch report! I got an AKG t-shirt, the AKG tour towel, an AKG wristband, an AKG pencil case, the new AKG eco bag, which is not quite as awesome as my other one, but says "Now is the times when the punk rockers think about the earth," two Weezer t-shirts, and two Weezer stickers. I think that's it. >.> I really wanted that towel! ;-;

And that used up every ounce of my energy for the weekend. I've been completely exhausted for the last week and a half. ._. I think I should get my thyroid tested again (I don't think they did the right test when I had it done a few years ago and was told I was fine), but I don't know how to go about doing that here. *sigh* Of course, the other main thing it could be is mono, except I don't have a fever, but I don't GET fevers anymore no matter how sick I am, which points back to a thyroid problem. [insert rant here about it not being a "real" fever if it's not over 99°, even if it's a full two degrees higher than your normal temperature] >.> Bleh.

I just had a dream that was half Pokémon, half Phoenix Wright, and half Frasier. Needless to say, it was ALL AWESOME.

Damn it, I'm going to have to go looking for Frasier/Niles slash again, aren't I?

I'm ridiculously excited, because after reconfiguring my router, I'm able to use my DS' wi-fi function. (I also gave the router a much cooler SSIN than the one lesboy had given it.) Anyway, if you're playing Pokémon Diamond/Pearl, give me your friend code! Let's trade Pokémon! And mystery gifts! And visit each other's secret lairs! My code is 0473 4272 4291.

[Poll #973822]

I had a good time hanging with the posse in Norfolk. The weather was soooooo nice~ We went to Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, and we saw wild bald eagles at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Including a baby eagle! So cute!! Colonial Williamsburg was really interesting. The "interpreters", as they call them, at the plantation are amazing. I learned so much. And I somehow ended up with a season pass to Busch Gardens, so I'd really like to go down there again if I can manage it, especially since they have a new roller coaster opening next month.

Despite it having New Hampshire's state motto in the title, I wasn't really planning on seeing Live Free or Die Hard, but Justin Long as the damsel technogeek in distress? I may have to. I can already imagine the Die Hard/MacPC crossover fic. Plus, you just can't go wrong with helicopters blowing up.

Gah, I need to get dressed, but I can't stop playing Pokémon....

I decided to go to Wal-Mart after work. In the sale aisle, they had Easter eggs with Princess Jasmine on them. It's like, let's try to offend as many people as possible!

But anyway, I got to play a demo of Pokémon Diamond, which was a little lame, 'cause it was super short and all it lets you do is battle a couple of youngsters. I also downloaded the demo of Disney Meteos, which is super addictive. That one's going on my wish list. This little kid was watching me play it with a mixture of supreme awe and jealousy, which would have been cute, except why the hell are people bringing their kids (three of them, two under 7) to Wal-Mart at 1:30 in the freaking morning???? I also got a cute little carrying case for Kaz, which I've been eyeing since even before I got him. (Kaz is my DS, btw. Full name: KAZ 2Y5. Why? Because he's black and shiny, and because DS stands for Dean/Sam, of course! See icon if you're confused.)

But the main find was in the DVD bargain bin: Short Circuit! If my popcorn maker wasn't dirty, I'd have myself a cheesy '80s movie mini-marathon right now!

And yes, I did remember to buy sunscreen and a new pedometer, which was my reason for going in the first place.

Thank you so much to everyone who sent me a Christmas card! ♥ Pac-Man stickers from [livejournal.com profile] kanaliya~ Fujicest blobs from [livejournal.com profile] pengiesama~ And OMG, candies and the cutest card ever from [livejournal.com profile] event__horizon!! ToT When I got the notice about a package I had to sign for, I thought it was my package from Japan, so I didn't go to the post office because that got delivered the next day. Then yesterday I got another notice, and I really had no idea what the package could be! I was so surprised!! ^_^ *snuzzles on teh Nat* I ate the bell-shaped thingy with the filling today~ It was yummy~~~

So, I didn't want to bring anyone down by saying this sooner, but yeah, worst Christmas ever. I'm not too bummed about it, because it was pretty clear from the start that it would be. Between the freakishly warm weather and everything being put aside for my grandmother's surgery, there was no feeling of Christmas at all this year. It's like it didn't even happen. I didn't even go to Christmas Eve services, because I'd forgotten to take my medicine that day. :/ And to top it all off, when we got to my other grandmother (the batshit insane one)'s house for dinner, we found out that she's had the mother of all colds for the last 2 weeks and didn't say anything to anyone because what she loves more than anything else is being a martyr. God forbid we should bring her dinner when she's sick, when she could wreck herself over it and make US all sick instead. >_> I had to leave work early tonight because I could barely stand up without getting dizzy, and now I've got a painful cough. Of course, I'm about to flip out and go postal at work anyway, because I am the only person there who is not a FUCKING MORON, but that's a rant for another time.

I seem to have finally broken my addiction to [livejournal.com profile] stupid_free and certain other LJ comms. By becoming addicted to Supernatural and Pokémon instead. -_-; I mean, why spend hours trolling the internet for wank, when I can be checking my download rate every 5 seconds instead? And what LJ drama could match the heartbreak of finding out that my Pokémon Silver cartrige, which had all my best Pokémon on it, including my very first Pokémon, Pickachu from Yellow, had lost its memory function? That last sentence had too many embedded clauses.

But yes. Supernatural. I almost stopped watching after the first two episodes 'cause Sam was whiny and Dean was an asshole with absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Seventeen episodes later, Sam is still a little whiny, but OMG DEAN. LOVE. SO MUCH. LIKE FOR REAL. *o* There aren't even any words to say. He is my new favoritest person ever. (And yes, I was in love with the show even before this clip, but that completely sealed the deal. XD) The sad part is, I think I'm going to have to break down and get the DVDs for season 1, because I'm already wanting to watch the episodes again.

Also, to certain people: putting blatant spoilers in the descriptions of your crappy Supernatural/Panic! At The Disco fanvids on YouTube? LAME.
