I'm really confused now. The Sato event on October 4th is NOT the usual Angels Descending event, but something else. And there's no mention of the Angels Descending event on the October calendar, BUT Sato is going to be closed on the day it's normally held. So are they having it this year, or not??? Damn it Volks, why do you always have to be so secretive?

Also: take the slashiness of Wrath of Khan, multiply it by 9 billion, and you get Search for Spock. :3 Seriously.

Dude, K/S is awesome. I can't wait for the doujinshi to start coming. Assuming there's any of it that's IC, which is admittedly asking for a bit much.

I'm sure there is GREAT fan-fic for them. I admit to being tempted to watch the series after seeing some excerpts of how slashy Kirk and Spock were and I can only imagine how slashy the 3rd movie is. lol
But wouldn't Spock top?

I'm sure that there is great fanfic; however, it's vastly outnumbered by really sucky fanfic. >.>

That's true of nearly every series. It might help to find a comm that has people writing it from before the new movie since that probably brought more young fans into the series.

There are some good younger writers, but I do find that more "mature" writers tend to be better.

Haven't rewatched the movies yet, but I totally agree with your assessment of that situation. Whether Epic Bromance or Romance, it's all totally awesome.

I've found some pretty amazing fanfic focusing on nu!Trek, although a lot of the writers who were part of the scene long before are doing a nice job of wefting the old and new together. Good times. It's funny, before the new movie, the only ST fanfic I would read was DS9 Garak/Bashir. Lo, how times have changed. ^_^;

As for Sato, aren't they doing another Owners Appreciation Event thing? And the cruise is that weekend as well. Dunno.
