what I did for porn

I just walked to 7-11 in the frickin' pouring-ass rain, because I was afraid that $300 might not be enough for Super Comic City tomorrow. And then the machine told me I can't use my ATM card until 8 in the morning. What the hell. x_x
In my defense, about $100 is already earmarked for stuff I'm getting for other people. And I know it's stupid and ridiculous to even contemplate spending $200 on doujinshi for myself, but there's soooo many good circles going! >o< And I'll have to move quickly to get to them all, so there's no time to go back if I decide later that I want something. *flails* Whyyyyyyyy does it always have to end so early????

Date: 2008-08-23 03:30 pm (UTC)I think it took me about 20 doujinshi events before I had my shopping down to an absolute science. But SCC Kansai is tough, because normally it's small enough that you can relax more, but at the August event there are so many people and circles, and the handmade crafts are out of this world.. ._.
To be honest, after 5 years of collecting doujinshi, I'm ready to wash my hands of most of them, but the goods I shall never part with, as they're the most fun and permanent reminders of how awesome events/Japanese fandom can be.

Date: 2008-08-24 03:13 am (UTC)I generally spend a lot on doujinshi, like a lot. I don't want to think about how much I spent at SCC this year. It was definitely more than $400 though I can tell myself that some of the books were for other people or to sell. >>;; I don't even want to think about how much I am going to bring to my "only" event in October since it's 100 circles just doing my pairing.
I generally do make it back to tables though sometimes things are sold out and sometimes they are not. ^^;
I bet Intex has an ATM. >>;; I know Big Sight has a lot of various flavors because I needed money at SCC Day 2 this year and ended up dashing up to get some.
I hope you enjoy the event and that the heat, humidity and lines are not so bad!
