Jul. 29th, 2006 02:00 amOh, thank God it's cooled off.
That said, this article makes my childfree, immigration-reform self happy. Well I mean, the situation itself makes me fume, that this woman and her husband have been here illegally for more than 20 years and STILL don't speak any English, but it's the legal, taxpaying citizens who are forced to pay for their 10 kids. But I love that the article, instead of trying to get you to feel sorry for them, points out that Hey, guess what? Fewer kids + more English = better living! (Also a good example of why the government should offer free sterilization for people who can't afford it.)
And of course I am not looking down on other countries just because they don't speak English. Just saying that if you leave Country A because life sucks there, and move to Country B, doesn't it make sense to try and live like the people in Country B live, instead of continuing to live the exact same crappy life that you were living in Country A?
