SF_D hive mind in action

Holy clusterfuck:

This pretty much encapsulates everything I hate about
sf_drama. (Yes, I've deleted my membership, but I still keep looking whyyyyyyy.) Notice how anyone pointing out facts like, no, 'otaku' does not mean 'serial killer', gets immediately shot down for racism and cultural appropriation, while everything
hontou says is untouchable because she is really Japanese! Really really, except for the fact that she's actually just a disgustingly overprivileged white girl with a bad case of yellow fever. Of the three things that sf_d hates the most (privilege, cultural appropriation, and weeaboos*), she's the worst offender, but because the Alpha Posters Who Must Not Be Contradicted made up their minds in the beginning that she's an oppressed minority aghrsfghahertaheurt I can't even form any more words.
While "hive mind" is usually a term used by idiots who get their asses handed to them en masse on sf_d, it really is true. You can not dissent from the majority opinion unless you yourself are an Alpha Poster. Anyone who tries will be immediately buried under the latest sociological buzzwords, no matter how reasonable their view is. I don't like what you have to say? Never mind a response that requires actual thought, I'll just pull out "tone argument" and be the automatic winner. And then all the Alpha Posters will have a big circle jerk about how much better they are than those other people who dare not have the same opinions as them. If you're wondering how one becomes an Alpha Poster, it's of course by dogpiling others under the latest sociological buzzwords.
SF_D can be a great source of information, not to mention entertaining drama, but yeah, soooooo had it with the "you must think like us or else" popularity bullshit.
(I'll admit that I did laugh heartily at a "Japanese" person telling an(other) American how horrible they were for appropriating a Japanese word.)
*Note, of course, that if you are an Alpha Poster, it's perfectly fine to like anime and J-Pop. Anyone else who has so much as eaten sushi is a weeaboo.
