2005: a year in review
Dec. 31st, 2005 02:30 amFinally, the last day of 2005.
A year ago, I thought no year could suck more than 2004.
Boy, was I wrong.
There were only four really good things that happened this year, and three of them were before the end of February. The shittiness of 2004 not only rolled into the new year, but got even worse. And when it looked at last like there was hope for things finally getting better, they suddenly went and got shittier than ever. This is the third year in a row that I've lost what was most important to me. If this pattern continues into 2006, I really don't know how I'll manage to cope.
If I had to sum up 2005 in one word, it would definitely be betrayal. And I think betrayal probably hurts more than anything else.
So, on a happier note, what were the big milestones?
• Patriots won their 3rd Superbowl in four years \o/
• Fujicest cosplay ♥ *glomps boku no otouto*
• kissing a gay boy~~ (It's really weird to think that
hungrypilotdude and I have both kissed the same guy. XDD)
But that's only three! Well, the other one I don't feel like talking about. As for my goals for 2005, the vast majority of them remain unaccomplished. But I did manage to completely blow away my Minesweeper goal. This time last year, I was hoping to get my time on the expert level under 300 seconds; today I set a new record at 182. I guess that's supposed to make up for it or something?
Anyway, I know that I'm not the only one that 2005 majorly sucked for. To everyone that this year has been especially hard on, I hope that 2006 brings you the peace and happiness that you deserve. Have a safe and happy New Year, everyone. ♥
